Sonia Ramirez, LMFT

Sonia Ramirez, LMFT has found her passion in her life’s work of helping people providing mental health services. She grew up locally in the small town of Hughson, then settled in Visalia to raise her family. Now a foster parent, she hopes to adopt out of the foster care system and grow her family.

Her background includes being a clinician in Tulare County for Hispanic individuals with severe mental health diagnoses, where she provided individual therapy, case management, and facilitated groups for high risk teens, children ages 5-10, and adult Hispanic males with schizophrenia. Ramirez has also worked alongside agencies providing services to foster children and their families, Katie A team members, Child Protective Services, and biological and foster families in the reunification process.

It was her professional growth with San Joaquin Behavior Health that allowed her to transition to Family First Medical Care.
